Meet Justice Standing Tall

JusticeJustice was born on October 19, 1999. Like any other young boy, he was active and enjoyed playing with his friends and siblings. He began experiencing headaches and vomiting and was incorrectly diagnosed with migraines in 2005. The pain persisted and on July 21, 2006, he was correctly diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a brain tumor located in the cerebellum. He had severe hydrocephalus and a shunt was placed in the fourth ventricle on July 22, 2006. Two days later, a partial resection was performed on the tumor, which involved the brain stem as well as cranial nerves. Following surgery, Justice received radiation, chemotherapy as well as PT/OT.

In January 2007, Justice was declared in remission. Although this news greatly thrilled Justice and his parents, he continued to battle symptoms and was in and out of the hospital numerous times. He received a stem cell transplant in the summer of 2007 and finished treatment shortly thereafter. Although his health problems slowed him down, Justice’s love of baseball and basketball continued, and he played the sports as much as his health would allow. In 2008, the Make A Wish Foundation granted Justice’s wish to meet Texas Ranger Chuck Norris. Justice flew to Texas to meet the actor, and his trip was everything he had hoped for! Since that time, Justice has maintained clear MRI scans despite dealing with headaches and dizziness on a regular basis. The doctors have been unable to determine the exact cause of these, but they theorize that late effects of treatment could be the cause.

Justice loves bowling, horses, watching movies and eating popcorn, along with other forms of junk food! He has a quick wit about him, and he wants to be a policeman when he grows up.
